College Bowl Games
True sports fans know the beginning of winter means it's bowl game season. Check out this year’s bowl games, plan your trip and make reservations to stay in a vacation rental near the game to cheer on your favorite college team. Round up a group of friends and split the cost of a rental for a great place to stay and great savings. Is your team going to a bowl game this year? Let us know! Tweet
The bowls begin December 21 and end with the BCS Championship Game on January 6, 2014. This will be the last year for the BCS system as 2014 will bring a new four-team playoff tournament to determine the national champion.
- Bowl Trivia: Before air travel became popular, the winter schedule allowed fans from up north time to make the trek south during the week after Christmas. (Although some cynics believe it gives universities more time to have players on the clock – which means a bigger paycheck for the school). Either way, celebrating the bowl games at the holidays has become a tradition as American as turkey on Thanksgiving.
Don’t get left out. Book a house rental and enjoy having more space and privacy than you would find at a commercial hotel or resort. Chipping in on a vacation rental with friends or family is an excellent way to save money. After all, bowl tickets don’t come cheap. And since you can't be at every game but don't want to miss any of the action, having a comfy TV room makes it easy to watch the games at your vacation rental. Cook up hors d'oeuvres in your rental’s custom kitchen or grill up burgers in the outdoor barbecue. So book the condo with the hot tub and attend this year’s bowl game in style.
