Mammoth LakesLocated in the Inyo National Forest , and just 32 miles south of Yosemite National Park , Mammoth Lakes is a first-class resort destination and offers some of the best lake fishing in its 100-plus lakes. Mammoth Lakes stock 15,000 pounds of fish in the 2-5 lb. range, and the Department of Fish and Game reports the annual allotment for catchable trout is 250,000 pounds.
