Online Payments

For a traveler who has found the property he or she wants to stay at, being able to pay online is an added benefit that makes the process more convenient. It also makes it easier for you to get paid!


HomeAway Payments is quick and easy to set up, and costs less than other online payment options. Once it's set up, you get a badge on the listing to make you stand out and show travelers how easy it is to pay. Other benefits:

Online Booking

In addition to HomeAway Payments, you can also add a "Book It Now" button to your listing. It doesn't cost anything and adds an additional level of convenience to travelers while helping set your listings apart from the rest.

With the "Book It Now" button on your listing, travelers can submit an inquiry and enter their payment information to put a hold on a property. You then have 24 hours to decide if you want to accept the booking.


Once you accept, the rental deposit is processed immediately, and any additional payments are automatically scheduled and invoiced. Of course, you can still send online invoices via HomeAway Payments anytime.

Getting Started

HomeAway Payments

Setting up HomeAway Payments is quick and easy. You can do it in just a few minutes:

  1. Visit the "Payments" tab in your HomeAway or VRBO dashboard. NOTE: If you have multiple listings, you will need to select a property listing and complete the setup for each individually.
  2. Select your country of residence and bank location, and click "Get Started Now."
  3. Choose whether to add a "Book it Now" button to your listing or simply sign up to accept HomeAway Payments.
  4. Complete the remainder of the set-up process (rates, payment schedule, rental agreement, etc.); you can always save and continue later.

Book It Now

If you have already set up HomeAway Payments and would like to add a "Book it Now" button to your listing:

  1. Visit the "Settings" tab in your HomeAway or VRBO dashboard. NOTE: If you have multiple listings, you will need to select a property listing and complete the setup for each individually.
  2. Click "Booking and Rate Preferences"
  3. Click "Edit Booking Preference"
  4. Select "Add 'Book It' button" and click "Continue"
  5. A "Book It" button will be displayed on your listing, and guests will be able to initiate bookings from your listing.
