Providing Exercise and Sporting Equipment at Your Vacation Rental

Offering exercise and sporting equipment is a great way to attract more renters. Many travelers see a vacation as an opportunity to finally get back into the habit of exercising. They look specifically for vacation homes with exercise equipment or a fitness center nearby. Fitness enthusiasts especially will love the idea of being able to exercise while on vacation—even on a rainy day!

Exercise Equipment

While most travelers think that they're going to exercise when they go on vacation, few actually do once they get there. However, they still look for exercise equipment (or a fitness center) when searching the web for a property to rent. To appeal to their ambitious side, include exercise equipment in your home and highlight it in your vacation rental listing.

Types of Exercise Equipment to Consider

Stationary bicycle
Treadmill
Elliptical
Climber
Glider
Rowing machines
Weight machines
Free weights
Pilates bands/balls
Yoga mat

Sporting Equipment

At family and large group gatherings, sports tend to bring people together. Adding a few sporting goods to your vacation home is an inexpensive form of entertainment for your guests (and your family when you stay at your own home).

Types of Sporting Equipment to Consider

Football
Basketball/basketball goal
Baseball gloves and balls
Soccer ball/kickball
Tennis rackets and balls
Volleyball/volleyball net
Badminton set
Bocce ball
Horseshoes

Exercise and sporting equipment at your vacation home may just be the differentiating factor that makes a renter choose your property over another. If you have unused exercise or sporting equipment at your primary home, consider relocating it to your vacation home.

Note: Before adding exercise or sporting equipment, consult your attorney and/or insurance provider.
