"I have added flashlights, emergency candles and holders, matches, and an old-fashioned, corded telephone to the inventory for power outages. I also provide a converted hot water stove and gas fireplace, so guests will not be entirely inconvenienced in the event of a power outage. I keep a basic tool box in the house, as well. The instruction manuals for all appliances/electronics are in a labeled/divided portfolio in the kitchen. A complete home inventory is sent in advance of guests' arrival, so they know what NOT to pack. In my Welcome Book, I keep the numbers of all the utility companies to avoid service delays if I happen to not be available. I also keep a copy of the Home Inventory, menus, maps and brochures for community amenities (including shopping) in my Welcome Book, as well."
