In November 2006, HomeAway secured $160 million in financing for continued expansion initiatives throughout the world. The funding represented the largest financing of an Internet software/services company in the world for the year. In November 2008, HomeAway secured an additional $250 Million in series-D funding, which was the largest minority investment of a U.S. Internet company since 2000, according to Venture Source. Most recently, Google Ventures purchased HomeAway shares from existing investors in November 2010 in a HomeAway-supported strategic move to capitalize on Google's product and technology expertise.
