Vail Skiing for Vacation Rental Guests
Vail ski vacation rentals are available near the lifts and slopeside for those skiers who can't bear to be more than a few steps from ski heaven.
As far as skiing goes, Vail offers over 5,000 acres of schuss-worthy land fit for athletes of all skill level. There are enough expert runs to keep the die-hard adventurers adequately challenged but ample options for the not-so experienced.
The Back Bowls are the best bets for those seeking a challenge. Little tree cover means that the weather plays a major role in the conditions of this region, but most upper level skiers find many rewards here. Check out Sun Up, Sun Down, China Bowl, Tea Cup, Siberia and the Inner and Outer Mongolia Bowl for a taste of top-notch terrain exploration.
The Blue Sky Basin is just south of Vail and has two bowls suitable for intermediate and advanced skiers in a slightly rougher, less groomed environment. The Front Side features smooth and flattened slopes fit for just about anyone as well as four terrain parks including Fly Zone and Aviator. Pro-style jumps, a 450-foot long Superpipe and 30 rails entice snowboarding daredevils of all ages. Vail also has the largest ski school in the country, so beginners will be welcomed with open arms by one of the many well-trained instructors and will soon be given the skills they need to enjoy the mountain.
Altogether, 346 inches of annual snow, 193 trails, 34 lifts including 14 high-speed quads and a gondola plus all the amenities outdoors people could ask for spell success for guests of Vail ski condo rentals.
For travelers with a mind for history, the Colorado Ski Museum - Ski & Snowboard Hall of Fame is worth a look. Learn about the ups, downs and developments of the sport through exhibits and videos that touch upon snowboarding, ski warfare and the U.S. Forest Service in addition to skiing.
