Provincetown Weddings

A Massachusetts marriage license is required for Provincetown weddings. To apply for a license, the bride and groom must appear at the office at any Town Clerk in Massachusetts and complete an application. There is a three-day waiting period for issuance of the license, which is valid for 60 days anywhere in Massachusetts.

Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and no blood tests are required. If either party has been divorced, they must wait at least 90 days from the date the divorce is final to re-marry. Following the ceremony, the officiant must sign the license and return it to the Town Clerk where it was issued. Out of state officiants must obtain a Certificate of Authorization from the Massachusetts Secretary of State (617-727-2836).
