Buggy Racin' in Florida

The first Swamp Buggy race of the year takes place at the Florida Sports Centre from January 27-28th. The event aims to preserve the tradition of racing that existed before WWII as well as raise funds for local charities. Stay in a rented holiday home in Florida and check out the races as participants battle it out in seven classes, from four-cylinder Jeeps to Pro-Modified vehicles running with nearly 1,000 horsepower. Visitors can purchase tickets for the time trials and the main races which organizers promise will take place "rain or shine", as well as the Saturday-evening dance and the Swamp Buggy Queen pageant.
