Cape Cod Weather
With a maritime climate that creates ever-changing weather from day to day and day to night, guests ofWhile October brings classic fall days, the night temperatures can reach all the way into the 30s and have quite a chill. However, once November rolls around, the temperate climate becomes even more apparent as the winter is not as cold and severe as most individuals would imagine. While snow is a possibility in December with daily averages around 30 degrees, January and February, typically the coldest months, bring rain and snow along with highs all the way in the upper 30s and lows into the lower 20s. After a relatively warm winter, spring does not descend upon the Cape until the end of April (a little snow in early April is common) and with it comes chilly days in the 50s and 60s along with favorite outdoor activities such as birdwatching and hiking.
In addition, remember that the offshore breeze is significantly colder than on land, so if you plan on setting out on a fishing or whale watching excursion, be sure to dress for the much cooler temperatures on the open ocean. Since the climate on Cape Cod is unpredictable (it can be sunny on one side of the Cape while only a half hour away on the other side it is cloudy and cool), it is best to be prepared for the worst no matter what time of year you visit.
