Campton, New Hampshire

Campton, New Hampshire is the place to be if mountain fun is in your future. Located in the Waterville Valley area of the White Mountains, Governor Wentworth named the town in 1761 after his English friend Spencer Compton, Earl of Wilmington. Historically, Campton was known as a woodworking community. Recently, however, the town has embraced its natural attributes, and tourism has risen to the front of the town's commerce. Today, a day's itinerary in Campton can include hiking, fishing, golf, white-water rafting, mountain biking, skiing (both the summer and winter varieties), and just about anything you can imagine.

Loon Mountain has 45 trails that cater primarily to intermediate skiers. Snowboarders have a half pipe where they can practice their moves, and cross-country skiers can choose from over 20 miles of back country trails.
