A waterfront getaway with views of Hales Passage, majestic Mt. Baker and the ski runs to the north in Canada. Beautifully decorated and remodeled down to the last detail with many of the special touches designed and crafted by the artist owner. It is fully equipped to include laundry room. The 3 bedrooms all have Queen Beds and the master includes a fireplace and sitting area. This home is called Sapphire Cove. Lummi Island has been written up in Sunset Magazine as an interesting and delightful island. Access is via a 7 minute car/passenger ferry crossing, starting at 6am ending at midnight. Crossings are hourly with additional runs during the day. We have additional rental homes on the island. They are beach front, beach access, waterfront and all have exceptional views. Lummi Island is part of the San Juan Islands and the easiest to get to. It is located off the west coast of Bellingham which is 60 minutes south of Vancouver, BC and 90 minutes north of Seattle, WA. Access is an easy 8 minute ferry commute with the ferry running frequently. Sunset Magazine has featured the island many times. It is noted for kayaking, walking, bird watching, boating, sailing, whale watching and a perfect spot for relaxation. Chartered Sailing is available as is Whale Watching cruises. Ask about kayak rentals. Many artists inhabit the island and they have two major shows in the summer months. There is also a Reefnet Festival and a Lavende Festival. We have restaurants for fine and casual dinning. Fresh seafood is available and we are noted for our spot prawns, local crab and reefnet salmon. Some homes are on the beach suitable for clam digging. In close proximity is the Silver Reef Casino, many golf courses and skiing at Mt. Baker.
