Description of the Wakefield vacation cottage rental
Beautiful water view cottage located 100 feet from Narrow River. Quiet neighborhood, yet convenient to Narragansett beach, URI, and great day-trip destinations such as Newport and Block Island. Narrow River is a haven for snowy white egrets, blue heron, cormorants, ducks, geese, and many other species of marine wildlife. A canoe and a kayak are included with the house for you to explore the river, paddle up to the General Store at the bridge, or even go all the way to the mouth of the river, where you can swim to a sandbar, or walk across the dunes to the ocean beach. If you want to bring your own boat, there is a boat ramp just a few streets down from the house. The house is the third house from the river, and the street dead-ends at the river so there is no through traffic. The house was completely remodeled in the fall of 2005.

Middlebridge is a quaint little village just on the border of Narragansett. There is a small river beach just a short walk from the house. Historic Narragansett and the Narragansett Town Beach are a 5-minute drive away. Visit the mansions of Newport, take a ferry trip to Block Island, and go to Providence to see the famous Waterfire and dine on Federal Hill. Come experience favorite Rhode Island events such as the Newport Jazz Festival, the Charlestown Sea Food Festival, the Blessing of the Fleet, and the Quahog Festival. South County, RI was selected by Money Magazine's top 10 'best places' to vacation in the US.
