Hiking: If you are a hiker, the Tahoe Rim Trail is accessible from several points around the Lake. It brings you up high so the viewing is as impressive as the hiking. Spooner Lake to the south is a level, 2 mile stroll around a lake filled with birds and wildlife. The flume trail off Mt. Rose highway switch-backs through wild flowers and giant granite boulders. Hiking maps and info is available at the Visitors Center on Tahoe Blvd. Pacific Rim Trail off Rte 80, trails around Emerald Bay, and the list goes on...
Golf: The best golf in Tahoe is right on our own Championship Golf course, designed by Robert Trent Jones. In addition The Mountain course, a long executive course, is varied, fun and the most scenic in Tahoe with views of the Lake and surrounding territory. In the cooler months try a little skiing in the morning and a little golf in the afternoon in Reno or the Carson Valley. We've done it !
Golf: Diamond Peak is family friendly, located right in the middle of Incline with bus facilities to many stops in the Village. Mt Rose with it's high speed quad guarantees more skiing in one day than most other ski areas. The Chutes are only for the bravest and are spectacular to see. Northstar is a ski area for everyone with a snowboard park that is segregated from the ski slopes. Squaw is internationally known and it's village has been redesigned with the latest in fashion, sporting equipment and restaurants. The back side of Squaw is Alpine Meadows known for it's bowl skiing. To the south is Heavenly ( about 30 minutes away) where you can ski in California half the day and Nevada the other half. Without question the best view of the entire Lake is at Heavenly. There are still many more ski areas to ski and each with a story.
