Let's separate by age. Kids like the beach, and climbing our 150 foot tall private dune. For the younger set, you would never have to leave the beach. Kids of all ages love playing shuffleboard. It is something unusual that they don't see everywhere. Kids love going to Michigan Adventure, which is less than 10 miles from our location. They love going 20 miles north to the Silver Lake Sand Dunes, and taking a dune ride at Mac Woods. There are also canoe rentals about 10 miles away on the White River at Happy Mohawk canoe livery. For something different, we can give you directions to Stoney Lake, about 10 miles north, where you can take your own tubes and drift down the shallow river to Lake Michigan. Kids love picking out a bike to ride from our ever varying colIection. Ice cream in the quaint town of Montague is a favorite. And of course, campfires at night with somemores. Teens: Beach and the dune, and being able to text, and we have wireless Internet. Adults: see the guest review

The dune at the lake provided lots of entertainment for kids young and old. Pigeon Hill also provides picnic tables at various locations and umbrellas and chairs at the beach. Our hosts, Steve and Ellen, were very nice, laid back, and accommodating in every way even when we ran out of milk. They are an engaging couple and allowed us a tour of other cottages and the old farm house on the property, spacious and equipped with all the modern conveniences ( would be perfect for staying with extended family). Another plus is the proximity to Whitehall and Montague only 10 minutes away on a scenic drive along White lake. The towns offer something for all, coffee houses, galleries, small town flair but not too touristy. We suggest a trip to the pharmacy with the original ice cream fountain. For twenty years we have been going to Michigan renting cottages along the way, Pigeon Hill really fits the bill for us!

We had a great stay at this property and would like you to post our experience.
Pigeon Hill is an affordable oasis in Michigan. Our cottage was clean and had a 50's flair. The grounds were spectacular!! Everything is available from outdoor sports (sand volley ball court, sand boxes for kids that stocked toys including Tonka toys, etc) to quiet relaxation. The property is so spread out that even tho two large families were there we still felt we had some privacy. They have Internet access which pleased our teenagers. Game room had a good selection of books for kids and adults and they have a washer and dryer which we were able to do all our laundry and came back with clean clothes. The walk to the dunes is beautiful, lit at night for a truly romantic stroll. Not enough can be said about the beach, clean and private. Also just a walk away (3 city blocks) is the Old Channel Inn if you didn't bring your lunch to the beach or wanted a break. Of course, the sunsets were breathtaking
