Jiminy Peak is the premiere ski resort in New England with the only 6-Person Berkshire Express which means shorter lines and more skiing/snowboarding. For the little ones, every parent brags about Jiminy's 'ski wee' program. And, for the snowboarders, the Half Pipe Park is a blast! To boot, Jiminy has the best snowmaking capability in Massachusetts. To add to the fun, there are always programmed activities and competitions for the adventuresome! For the romantic-at-heart, you can apres in the heated, outdoor pool at the base of the mountain, then warm up in front of our cozy, warm fireplace, and then even have a romantic dinner for two at the many fine restaurants in the area. At Jiminy and throughout the beautiful Berkshires, there are interests, events and activities for everyone year round The Berkshires is known for it's natural beauty that can be explored by hiking, walking, cycling, canoeing/kayaking and scenic driving. In the summer, the hills are alive with the sound of music, be it Tanglewood, the Williamstown Jazz Festival, South Mount Concerts, etc. As for 'fun,' there's no end to the joy of watching the children at Jiminy's Mountain Adventure Park, be it on the new Mountain Coaster, the Alpine Slide, the Climbing Wall, the new Zipline, and more! I'm told the mountain biking is awesome!
For those pursuing cultural and educational experiences, the choices are endless. The Berkshires offers great theatre, music, art, and historic sites. A short drive to New Lebanon, NY, the antique center, including Meissner's Auction Services, is unbeatable. You have your choice from weekend 'tag sales' to fine antiques.
FALL FOLIAGE in the Berkshires:
The peak period for autumnal, fall foliage in the Berkshires is the 2nd and 3rd week in October. You can immerse yourself by walking the beautiful trails at Jiminy, Mt. Greylock, and elsewhere, in the kaleidascope of colors nature has to offer. Or, you can sit out on the deck with a good book, sunshine, crisp air and see the changing Berkshire vista in front of you.
