This 4 bedroom, 4 bath, 4,100-sf-house is owned by the founder of SV's largest property management company. It is set up optimally for visitors, offering everything that a vacationer wants to find in a rental property - in the best location and at the right price. Each of the bedrooms is in its own wing, with its own full bath, affording complete privacy for every two people. Also, the first-floor queen bedroom is a suite with a totally separate sitting room with its own audio-visual system and a brand new queen sofa sleeper for that ninth person. The master bedroom is more than 900sf, has its own outdoor sitting deck, one of those lavish marble baths with glass shower PLUS 2-person jettub, big walk-in closet/dressing area, and a king bed that can only be described as regal. The other bedrooms each have twin beds that can be made into kings. All beds are pillowtops and all except twins have high-thread-count sheets. There is no clutter whatsoever, and exceptional cleanliness is a given
Sun Valley's most ideal location!:
'Lake Creek is considered one of the Sun Valley area's most desirable neighborhoods. California's governor is just up the street, and the home of John and Theresa Kerry is only about a mile away. Why is Lake Creek so sought after? Because it is very close to Ketchum/Sun Valley - about 2 miles by road or bike path - but also removed from the activity of the resort core. You are surrounded by mountains, the river (with its hiking, mtn. biking, swimming and fishing options) is an easy stroll away, and you are totally out of earshot of Hwy 75 as it traverses the Wood River Valley. Lake Creek is very low density, with the up-valley estates going 5-10 acres - there's hardly any traffic, and anyway, unlike most houses, this one turns its back on the road. Your dog will love this spot! And, the NORTH valley location completely excludes the south-valley resort commute traffic, which is not something you want to deal with on vacation. In winter, you're just a 5-minute drive from the ski lift!s
This house is set up just for our guests!:
Cleanliness and spaciousness are very important to us, and to our guests. The absence of clutter is restful and imparts a clean feeling that is not possible in most second homes. The home is very tastefully and comfortably furnished, as well as very fully equipped, but it is not overdone or stuffy as more cluttered homes may be. Although everything is 'nice,' you will not feel that you are in danger of knocking over a priceless bauble. At 4,100sf, there is ample space, especially considering that there is a second living room (where kids like to locate) as well as a loft library/den adjacent to the master where you can work (if you must) without having to be totally by yourself. Beware of agent-represented properties. This house would have to cost much more if we had to pay an agent!
Ski:
Bald Mountain is generally regarded as the world's best single ski mounain. The terrain is diverse and the lift layout is such that you don't ski the same runs over and over again. The on-mountain lodges are without parallel in the ski world - 3 stupendous log structures with amazing luxury details. There is also Dollar Mountain, which is for beginners, and separate from Baldy so that learners feel safe from speedy types passing through. It also has an unbelievable log lodge with a quality day care operation. Then there's the cross-country skiing! The area has more than 200km of beautifully groomed terrain with drop-dead gorgeous backdrops. The Harriman Trail runs through pristine wilderness to a 100-year old lodge under the pass, and that lodge area has extensive trails, perfectly groomed. Our house is only 2 blocks from where the national x-country team trains. Much of the terrain is doggie-friendly. SV itself also has fabulous x-country trails and a huge new clubhouse.
