S.Agata Sui Due Golfi is a delightful little village in the hills above Sorrento. Its name says everything about the breathtaking views which it enjoys over both the Bays of Naples and Salerno. Apart from the main village centre, there are another seventeen villages which have developed from the ancient hamlets and are still linked by an intricate network of paths, mule tracks and lanes as well as by the main roads. In the village are shops of all types, bars, cafes, and restaurants such as ' Don Alfonso' mentioned in the Michelin guide as one of the best in Southern Italy. To be visited in the village, the Church (XVI century) has a late Renaissance structure and is famous for its very precious altar, with fine and elaborate inlaid works of mother-of-pearl, lapis-lazuli, malachite and every type of precious marble. The Monastery of 'Il Deserto' and its famous belvedere above the Gulfs of Naples and Salerno made this site one of the most celebrated in the Campania region.
