Pool available from late May to early September, depending on the weather. Rentals are Saturday to Saturday, arrival from 4pm, departure by 10am. The owners live on site in a cottage opposite the main house. We are here to help with anything that you need during your stay and to offer advise on local restaurants, places of interest etc. The gardens and pool are private and exclusive to your use. Linen and towels are provided (guests are requested to bring their own pool towels). A 25% deposit is required when booking and the balance is due 8 weeks before arrival. The deposit is non-refundable.
A security deposit of £200 is required and is refundable on departure. - From our Vistors book:- A great house and facilities, welcoming hosts and great countryside. Unfortunately the two weeks have flown by and now it is time to go home, will have lasting memories of a wonderful holiday in beautiful tranquil countryside. June 2004. The house has been a joy to stay in most comfortable and relaxing. All in all has been a fantastic stay and has been really hard to leave. July 2004. This house was a great place for two families of old friends to share together, enough space to be together and enough space to be apart when appropriate. We have stayed in many gites in the Dordogne and Perigord region but this was the best. August 2005.

The House and Garden: The barn has been beautifully converted to a very high standard. Fully equipped and well laid out. The interior provides comfortable sunny bedrooms a luxury sejour and also a separate TV room with children's toys and games. The family dining room easily seats 12 people. Outside there is a large covered dining terrace overlooking the pool and the panoramic view. The terrace and pool are south facing and are in the sun all day. There are outside toys and a swing and slide for the children. The pool is fenced for safety and there is a paddling pool provided for toddlers.
The Area: The hamlet of Les Brageaux is very peaceful with no through traffic, just a quiet lane that takes you up into the surrounding woods and parkland. The Perigord Vert is the most rural corner of the Dordogne department with fewer people and large tracts of pasture and woodland, perfect for walking, canoeing, fishing and cycling or just relaxing. The countryside along the River Dronne remains largely undisturbed. It is tranquil and beautiful. Brantome the “Venice of Perigord” is only 10kms here there are plenty of good restaurants providing a variety of local food and wine catering for all budgets. Other places of interest are Bourdeilles with its Renaissance Chateau, Riberac best known for its lively market and the enchanting village of St-Jean-de-Cole. Also close by are the Grotte de Villars and the Chateau de Puyguilhem. Slightly further afield are the vineyards of Cognac and Bordeaux and the Atlantic coast (about a 2 hour drive).
