Village of Kingsburg: Shobac is a farm at the sea on historic village ruins near Lunenburg on Nova Scotia’s south shore, offering weekly rentals of four unique cottages and a large studio. Inquire at The Cottage Connection in Nova Scotia. It is a pastoral site on the cliffs overlooking the LaHave Estuary, named by French explorer Samuel De Champlain, who made his first landfall in the new world here in 1604. Shobac today consists of four newly constructed cottages, a large studio, and a barn, designed and constructed by owner and internationally acclaimed architect/professor Brian MacKay-Lyons, with the interns from his ‘Ghost’ summer architectural apprenticeship. Creating a natural amphitheatre from three glacial drumlins around two magnificent sand beaches, the Village of Kingsburg is considered by many to have the most spectacular oceanfront settings on the South Shore of the Lighthouse Route.Kingsburg's oceanfront is comprised of sand beaches, dramatic rocky cliffs and tidal pools.
The Jewel of the South Shore: Only a short drive away are some of the most popular historic towns in Atlantic Canada, such as Chester, Mahone Bay and Lunenburg (UNESCO World Heritage Site) renowned for its pristine architecture and working waterfront A wide variety of amenities including fine dining, art galleries, live theatre, museums and craft shops in addition to, boating, kayaking, cycling, and gorgeous scenery. This area offers world class surfing and sea kayaking, fresh water canoeing, superb golfing and excellent cycling and hiking. Benchmark of Quality 4-Star Standards: Shobac is inspected and licensed under Nova Scotia Government regulations for weekly and monthly rentals and is rated 4-Star by the Canada Select Tourism Industry. This insures the guest a quality property and benchmark of standards. Professionally cleaned and managed. Individual or multiple cottages can be rented on a weekly basis. The rates for these two bedroom cottages differ from high summer (July-August) to the shoulder seasons (May-June and September-October). The studio can be rented for events, and is ideal for arts workshops, weddings, equestrian vacations, family reunions, or corporate retreats. The entire site can also be rented offering the solitude of “a lost village at the end of the earth”.
