Shobac is a farm at the sea on historic village ruins near Lunenburg on Nova Scotia’s south shore, offering weekly rentals of four unique cottages and a large studio. It is a pastoral site on the cliffs overlooking the LaHave Estuary, named by French explorer Samuel De Champlain, who made his first landfall in the new world here in 1604. Shobac today consists of four newly constructed cottages, a large studio, and a barn, designed and constructed by owner and internationally acclaimed architect/professor Brian MacKay-Lyons, with the interns from his ‘Ghost’ summer architectural apprenticeship.

Individual or multiple cottages can be rented on a weekly basis. The rates for these two bedroom cottages differ from high summer (July-August) to the shoulder seasons (May-June and September-October).
The studio can be rented for events, and is ideal for arts workshops, weddings, equestrian vacations, family reunions, or corporate retreats. The entire site can also be rented offering the solitude of “a lost village at the end of the earth”.
