The 100-mile-long Algarve coastline of Portugal, known for its stunning coastline and myriad of beach resorts, still bears the signs of centuries ago Moorish occupation.

One of the most popular resorts is Albuferia. In town, guest of Algarve vacation rentals will find narrow streets filled with restaurants, bars, and shops. The main beach, Praia do Peneco, offers plenty of activity, and the shore-side promenade is great for strolling and people watching. Praia da Gale, west of town, is a prime spot for water skiing and jet skiing, while to the east Balaia features a gently sloping swimming beach. Public restrooms and showers are available at all beach towns.

In Lagos, guests of Algarve vacation rentals can take a sightseeing boat tour or explore the old town with its medieval walls and fort.
